Proud of Aljunied residents for finally speaking up! I am deeply saddened by comments made on Twitter and Facebook about their victory though. Contrary to popular beliefs, this does not weaken the PAP but in fact, strengthens it. PAP lacks the soul needed while other parties lack the experience. By adding the Workers' Party (they should be respectably called Workers' Party and not simply OPPOSITION) in, this definitely humbles the PAP and gives the Workers' Party the chance to show how credible they can be. We are going to have the best of both worlds people. We are going to have two stronger parties emerging in the years to come. We are going to be alright, if not better. So please shut up about having alternative voices in the parliament because when you recite your pledge in primary school, do not forget that it says "...to build a DEMOCRATIC society..". Anyway, a little competition is always healthy right?
